"Red (Taylor's Version)" is Taylor Swift's highly anticipated re-recording of her fourth studio album, "Red," featuring updated production and vocals, along with nine previously unreleased "From the Vault" tracks. The album includes all 16 original tracks from the original release, as well as four tracks from the deluxe version and the touching tribute to a young boy named "Ronan." The lead single, "I Bet You Think About Me" featuring Chris Stapleton, showcases Swift's signature storytelling style and catchy hooks, while the collaboration with Stapleton brings a fresh energy to the track. The music video, starring Phoebe Dynevor, was released alongside the song and adds a visually stunning and captivating element to the release. With "Red (Taylor's Version)," Swift continues to reclaim ownership of her early music catalog, while providing fans with a fresh and dynamic listening experience. The album is a testament to Swift's creativity, resilience, and evolution as an artist, and is sure to captivate listeners of all ages.
"Red" is Taylor Swift's 4th album, released on October 22nd, 2012. This album was hit with harsh criticism for being "not sonically cohesive", but those same critics came back later and gave it near perfect reviews, finally realising that is the way it was meant to be.
In Taylor's own words:
Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place. A fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past.
On November 12th, 2021, Taylor released "Red (Taylor's Version)". Which came with the original 16 songs + 4 deluxe tracks + "Ronan" + 9 Vault Tracks, leaving us with a 30 track album. This version of the album features the ever-awaited "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" along with a short film for that songs because it means so much to the her and the fans. Along with the release of this album, she also released a Music Video for "I Bet You Think About Me" - another vault song.
This leaves Red as the clear winner for Music Videos with 9 in total.
It is also worth noting the 3 different endings for Red, firstly you have "Begin Again" which is a song about how she finally found something nice after a terrible heartbreak. The second ending is "State Of Grace (Acoustic Version)", meaning you start the album with "State Of Grace" and end with the acoustic version. It's a beautiful full circle moment. The last ending is "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" - the song that was meant to be the final song on Red. It can also be considered that there are 2 more songs on "Red (Taylor's Version), "Safe & Sound" and "Eyes Open" - these songs were added to "The More Red (Taylor's Version) Chapter - EP", so it is debatable whether they belong on "Red" or not.
Some say that "Red" is Taylor's favourite album since she gave it 2 music videos with the release of Taylor's Version, yet gave Fearless nothing. Though after careful thought, I believe it's all about perspective.
